Film Dedication: E.T.
Why I Chose This Film: E.T. was the very first film I saw in a movie theater when I was 3 years old. This movie filed me with awe, wonder and imagination. I was hooked on storytelling from that moment on. I didn’t know how to articulate it at the time, but I wanted to make something that gave others as much joy as I got from that first film.

Why I Chose This Book: It has nothing to do with my field of study, but it has two features relevant to the occasion. First, it's about a life spent in intimate relationship with books. Second, it's the thing I've read recently that I've wanted to come back and re-read repeatedly, and expect to-read again.
