NewsNook

    Find new books and current issues of popular magazines and newspapers in the NewsNook to the left of the circulation desk.

Computers

The library has 48 computers scattered throughout the library on all floors. Wireless is available in the library building

  • 1 "Quick search" computer, first floor (no MS Office or lab software)
  • 23 computers confiured with the same software as computers in Schertz computer lab, throughout the building
  • 23 computers in library computer lab
  • 1 instructor computer in library computer lab
Quick Search Computer
A computer located to the right of the circulation desk is always logged into the library's catalog.
Library Lab
A 23-station lab is located on the first floor near the reference room. When a class is not scheduled for the lab, these computers are available for students.
MAC
The library has one MAC located in the NewsNook area to the left of the circulation desk.
Network Ports
The library has eight network ports for personal laptop computers that have network cards. These ports are in the reference room and in the stack areas of the second and third floors. Network cards may be purchased from the Goshen College bookstore.
Photocopiers / Scanners
      Two photocopiers / scanners are located on the main floor of the library near the NewsNook and one on the third floor outside the periodicals room. Charge for copies is 10 cents per page. Photocopy prices are set by the college print shop and apply campus-wide. Two sizes of paper are available: letter and legal size. Copiers can accommodate enlarged or reduced copies as well as two-sided copying and transparencies.  These machines can also scan to a variety of formats. 

Reader/Printer
    It is possible to get paper copies of microform pages. A self-service machine is available on third floor south with the periodical back issues. Charge is 10 cents per page.

Group Study Rooms

    Room 011 in the library basement is available for group study. The room may be reserved in advanced through the library office manager (x7430) but reservation is not required. A key to the room is available at the circulation desk and may be obtained with a GC campus ID. A second group study area, located on second floor south, is available on a first-come first-served basis.

Quiet Area

    The 2nd floor north stack area has been designated a quiet area for studying.
