Searching Tips for Theoretical Nursing Models & Theorists

  1. Search by theorist's name, and only one name at a time. For example, for Boykin, Anne & Schoenhofer, Savina O.: The Theory of Nursing as Caring, search for just Anne Boykin or just Savina Schoenhofer.
  2. If not finding results, limit by author. For example, searching for Margaret Newman brings up 90 results, most of them not relevant. However, by using the Author drop down limiter when searching, you can limit to a page by books exclusively by the theorist.
  3. If possible, read online. You can download a encrypted PDF file of a checked out book and read it with Adobe Digital Editions. However, this takes a bit to setup. The simplest way to read the book is by using the online reader.
