We are able to provide virtual Ask Desk support for writing, citation, and research related questions during our regular Ask Desk hours. [Those on campus are able to access face to face ASK desk services, including writing support, per usual at the ASK desk.  Please wear a mask.

When is the Ask Desk opened?
Both the virtual and physical Ask Desk is open Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.,  Friday 9am to 5 pm, and Sunday 7 to 10 p.m.  Please see the schedule below to schedule an appointment or email us at library@goshen.edu.

How do I get to the virtual Ask Desk?
Drop in to the Ask Desk via the Chat with a Librarian box or library@goshen.edu email. Simply say “Hello” and we’ll be glad to help.

Can I schedule an appointment?
Yes. Visit the Tutor Calendar at http://tutorcal.goshen.edu/ and select Writing. During the day you will meet with the librarians and in the evening the student tutors.

How do I share a paper?
We will be able to work with Google Docs and their shared features. Unfortunately, we will be unable to review papers in other formats. The librarian on duty will give their email address for you to share your Google Doc with.

Can I have a virtual voice or video conversation with the Ask Desk?
Yes. The Ask Desk will be using Zoom for virtual meetings. The librarian will give you, depending on your preference, a phone number or url link to enter into the virtual meeting.
