BEYOND GOOGLING: GOOGLE SCHOLAR

USING GOOGLE SCHOLAR

Google Scholar limits your Internet search to journal articles, hits from PubMed and Google Books, conference papers and similar, more academically oriented, sources.  For your convenience, a Google Scholar widget is embedded in this page.

If you are using a Goshen College-networked device, journals owned by GC will be flagged with Available from Goshen or Get full txt in the margin.

Or, you can check the settings yourself.  (Off campus, you will have to change the settings to flag GC's journals.  You will also be prompted for your GC username and password if the journal is a licensed resource.)

Begin at the Google Scholar home page.

  • Click on the link for Settings.
  • Look for Library Links and click on it.
  • Search for Goshen College.
  • Check all of the check boxes for Goshen College, and click on Save.

To retain the settings, you must have cookies turned on.  More information is available on the Google Scholar site.
