Anyone with a Goshen College username and password can request a book either in our physical collection, or create an interlibrary loan request for a book that we don't own.
Here are the full instructions on using our catalog to place a hold on a book.
A hold for an item that is currently available should take 1 business day or less. A request for a book through interlibrary loan may take up to a week and a half to be ready. For more about our interlibrary loan policies, go here.
Note: MHL circulating items can be obtained in the same manner. Access to the MHL space, however, is by appointment only.
I have book due soon, should I keep it or return it?
If you are getting overdue notifications or have specific questions, please contact us at interlibrary@goshen.edu or fill out this form to request a renewal.
However, if you are finished with the book, you have a few options for returning the book:
Is there a place I can easily see all the books I have checked out and when they are due?
Yes, go to My Library Account and sign in with your Goshen College username and password. From there you can see all of the books you have checked out. You can also see what holds you have in the system and if the book is available. You can also renew books by clicking on the Renew button. You can use this feature 2 times and if you need a book longer than that, contact librarycirc@goshen.edu. If you need to renew an Interlibrary loan book (anything with a book band or PALShare sticker on the cover) please email us at interlibrary@goshen.edu and or fill out the Interlibrary Loan Renewal form to get a renewal.
